About the ZeaBean Project
Our Mission
The project aims to find a workable solution on how farmers in Angonia District, Tete province, Mozambique can improve the quality and quantity of maize and soybean per hectare. With the goal of improving the supply value chain of qualitative and quantitative maize and soybean supplied to Escolha Do Povo Company in Angonia district.
Project Overview
Escolha Do Povo, a feed production company based in Angonia, is facing a critical challenge of insufficient quantity and poor quality of maize and soybean supplied by local farmers. This issue directly impacts the company’s overall production capacity and efficiency. Most of the farmers in the region are smallholder peasants with limited access to improved seed varieties, agricultural inputs, and technical knowledge required to meet commercial supply standards. To meet the company's target of 10,000 tons of maize and 5,000 tons of soybean annually, there is a need for a sustainable solution that enhances farmer productivity and supply chain reliability.
